Louise
You know, I feel loads better for that. I think I'd always had niggling doubts about whether my pension was going to be enough. It was kind of always there – but I didn't want to look just in case. And now I know what my plan is, I know I'm going to get there and, more importantly, I even know how I'm going to get there.
Mark
Yeah, it was good that. Surprisingly useful. If you'd told me this morning I was going to plan the next 40 odd years of my life – well, I probably wouldn't have made it through to lunch to be honest! But like you said, it's good to know what you want, what you need, what your options are and what you can do to get it – well, it's got me more interested. More than interested perhaps.
Louise
Excited, even? Go on, you know you're excited really. You can tell us.
John
Sonny Jim excited? This I've got to see! Eh, and no girls around either?!
Mark
I wouldn't go so far as to say excited, but all the same, it's a good feeling to be in control. It makes saving money more interesting – I feel like I know where the money's going. Anyway, John, what about you? I thought you were all sorted?
John
Yeah, well, more or less. But I still had to draw up a plan of exactly when I was going to stop work. I'm actually thinking about reducing my hours.
Louise
That sounds like a plan. You've got to make sure that the Company says it's ok first though.
John
Well yeah, but that's what I did for my planning. I mean I've spoken to Linda and she says that she's going to look into it. So by this time next year I could be halfway to being retired after all.
Mark
I wish I was halfway to being retired! Mind you, I can't afford to retire at the moment. That's the one thing this course has taught me.
John
Yeah well lucky for you Mark, you've got plenty of time to do something about that! You too Louise.
Louise
Hmm, I know, it's scary isn't it? But now I've got a plan.
Mark
Which you're very excited about.
Louise
Which I'm very excited about. It makes me actually want to keep on top of my money for once.
John
Great manager.
Mark
Well, she's one of a kind!
